Much of Nicholasville is newer subdivisions where the trees are still growing in, with older homes near downtown and wooded lots out toward the Kentucky River. A house in a new subdivision and a house under old trees need different things, so we look before we quote.

Newer subdivisions

With young trees, many newer homes do not need guards yet. What they do get is shingle grit, seed pods and blown debris, plus downspouts that empty right next to the foundation. A clean-out and a look at where each downspout sends its water is often all it takes.

As the trees grow in

Subdivision trees planted along the street and in back yards reach the roofline sooner than most people expect. When you start cleaning gutters more than once a fall, that is the point where gutter guards start to pay for themselves.

Wooded lots toward the river

Homes south of town and toward the river often sit under mature hardwoods. Leaves there fill gutters fast, and fine mesh guards keep the small stuff out along with the big leaves. Our guard types guide covers the trade-offs.

Questions people ask us

Do you work in Wilmore?

Yes. Wilmore and the rest of Jessamine County are part of our area. Tell us the street when you call.

My house is only a few years old. Do I need gutter guards?

Often not yet. If there are no trees near the roof, a yearly clean-out is usually enough. We will tell you honestly which one your house needs.
