Gutter guards and gutter cleaning in Richmond, KY
Clean-outs, repairs and guards for homes in Richmond, Berea and across Madison County.
Richmond has everything from older homes near downtown and the EKU campus, with big trees that have been shading roofs for decades, to newer subdivisions where the trees are still small. Those two kinds of houses need very different things from their gutters, and we quote them that way.
Older neighborhoods with mature trees
Under big oaks and maples, gutters can fill in a single fall. That is the case for gutter guards: a clean-out, a check of the seams and hangers, and a guard sized to the leaves. Older gutters also tend to have seams that have dried out and hangers that have worked loose, and we fix those before any guard goes on.
Newer subdivisions
With young trees or none nearby, many newer homes do not need guards yet. A yearly clean-out to clear shingle grit and blown debris, plus making sure the downspouts carry water away from the foundation, is often all it takes. We will tell you if that is the case at your house.
Farm and rural homes
Out in the county, tree lines along fences and creeks, wide eaves on farmhouses and outbuildings all call for a bit more planning. Tell us what buildings you want done when you call.
Berea and the south end of the county
We work in Berea too. Homes closer to the knobs often sit under more woods, which means more leaves and more pine needles, and fine mesh guards are usually the better choice there.
Questions people ask us
Can you look at my gutters and my downspout drainage at the same visit?
Yes, we look at both every time. Water pooling against the foundation is one of the things we check.
