A lot of Winchester houses are older homes on tree-lined streets, many of them two stories with long gutter runs. That combination means gutters that fill fast and are hard to reach, which is exactly where people stop doing it themselves.

Two-story homes and long runs

We work on two-story homes. Long runs need the right slope over their full length or water collects in a low spot and overflows there. When we fit gutter guards we check the pitch first, because a guard on a gutter that holds water just hides the problem.

Older gutters

Gutters that have been up for decades often have dried-out seams and hangers that have loosened in the wood. We reseal the joints and re-secure the runs before anything else. If a section is past saving we will show you why. See gutter repair.

Downspouts and old drainage

Older homes sometimes have downspouts tied into underground lines that clogged long ago. If water is backing up at the bottom of a downspout, that is often why. Sending the water out on the surface instead is usually the simple fix. More on downspouts.
